Two dogs were shot and killed, and three people were injured following a dog attack on March 21 in Louisville's East End.
Louisville Metro Police Department officers responded around 11:10 a.m. to a report of a person being attacked by dogs in the 13000 block of Reamers Road near the Pewee Valley area, according to a statement from LMPD spokesperson Adam Sears.
When officers arrived, they encountered two dogs actively attacking people and exhibiting aggressive behavior toward first responders, the statement said.
To stop the attacks, officers discharged their firearms, resulting in the deaths of both dogs.
The three people injured by the dogs were transported to UofL Hospital for treatment. The incident is under investigation by officers in coordination with Louisville Metro Animal Services.
